Oroville Dam Hillsides Will Turn Green Due to Hydroseeding
Oroville Dam hillsides will turn green due to hydroseeding
Oroville Dam’s main and emergency spillways were damaged in 2017, prompting the evacuation of more than 180,000 people living downstream along the Feather River and the relocation of a fish hatchery.
However, the main spillway will soon begin appearing bright green.
The change in colour will be due to the hydroseeding planting process which involves the preparation of a liquid medium that combines seed and a carrier.
